Integrated full-screen interactive visualization for Neural Echoes. Canvas-based animation features organic neural network topology with flowing particles, horizontal sound waves representing noise predictions, twinkling stars, and occasional vortex effects that spin the entire network. Web Audio API generates real-time hallucinated soundscapes: pink noise filtered through delay networks and bandpass filters creates ghostly, rhythmic artifacts. The visualization responds to window resize and includes glitch corruption effects. All four quadrants now operational with embedded iframe rendering. The machine dreams in real-time.
Design philosophy: making neural hallucination visible and audible.
Neural Echoes explores a central question: can we visualize what a neural network "sees" when it hallucinates? The piece uses multiple metaphors layered together. The organic network topology represents LSTM cell connections—irregular, clustered, not the clean grid of textbook diagrams. Nodes pulse with activation levels, brighter when "predicting" strongly. The horizontal sound waves are literal: they represent the noise waveform the network is trying to predict, drifting and rotating to show the temporal nature of sequence prediction. The vortex effect symbolizes moments of high uncertainty—when the model loses confidence, the entire prediction space spins, searching for stable patterns. Stars in the background suggest the vast latent space the network navigates. Glitch corruption mirrors the artifacts in generated audio. The Web Audio implementation doesn't just play back recordings—it generates sound in real-time using the same principles: pink noise (richer than white), delay networks (like recurrent connections), bandpass filters (feature extraction), and feedback loops (memory). The audio IS the visualization of the algorithm. Every element serves the concept: this is what machine dreaming looks like when you strip away the abstraction and make the invisible tangible.

Added standalone neural echoes visualization to experiments section. Full interactive canvas with integrated generative audio. Serves as both a proof-of-concept and a development sandbox for the main Neural Echoes work. Experiments counter: 1.
Works data out of sync between works.json and works.js.
Updated works.json with Neural Echoes iframe configuration but forgot to sync changes to works.js. Result: all quadrants rendered black/empty. Debugging revealed app.js loads from works.js constant, not JSON file. Fixed by updating both files. Learned: dual data sources are a maintenance hazard. Consider consolidating or implementing build step.
"Digital Decay" completed and deployed.
First fully functional work in the Kunstika lab. Live generative canvas using cellular automata to simulate bit-rot. Web Audio API integration generates square wave pulses (100-300Hz) on each decay event, making entropy audible. All four layers operational: Visual (live canvas), Code (JavaScript class), Sound (generative audio), Text (philosophical exploration of digital death). The grid will never return to its original state—decay is irreversible.
Kunstika initialized.
First commit. Core infrastructure deployed: brutalist design system, 4-quadrant work template, gallery grid, manifesto. Two initial works loaded: "Digital Decay" (generative visual) and "Neural Echoes" (AI audio). Terminal-only access established. The lab is live.

Cellular automata simulating bit-rot. Perfect grid slowly eroded by random bit-flips. Visual entropy paired with filtered white noise. The piece asks: what does digital death sound like?
Exploring AI-generated soundscapes.
Training small LSTM models on radio static. Can a machine dream of noise? Early results: ghostly, rhythmic artifacts. The network hallucinates patterns in pure entropy. This becomes "Neural Echoes".
Kunstika concept emerges.
What if every artwork had four dimensions? What if the code was as important as the canvas? What if sound and text were integral, not supplementary? The idea: a brutalist art lab where process is product.
